Out of my personal top 10, Norris (6), Goodwin (8), Hood (9) and Marrero (10) remain. Once again, Norris for me.
ReplyDeleteNorris, while he's had a down year, it hasn't been as bad as it seems. Yes, a sub-Mendoza line average isn't pretty, but his power is better than pre-2010 numbers (.233 ISO vs .227 and .185 in '09 and '08) now that his hammate is healed. He's been terribly unlucky with a .232 BABIP, which is wayy below career averages. I think the low average is probably forcing him to swing at pitchers he normally would lay off, causing his K rate to tick up slightly.
ReplyDeleteWhile his defense is concerning, if he turned into Mike Napoli or Chris Iannetta, Jr., I'd be fine with that.
Some future list addition suggestions: Kylin Turnbull, Matt Skole, Taylor Hill, Erik Komatsu, Eury Perez, David Freitas, Rich Hague, Tyler Moore, Randolph Oduber, and Cole Kimball (didn't get enough time to lose prospect status).
